Jamie's been interested in food and cooking for as long as she can remember (and even before...as the little whale apron that she had when she was 2 will attest!). Even before she started the store, she ran cooking mailing lists on the Internet. She often gave baskets of dry mixes she made up to family members for Christmas and birthdays. This love of food translated into a desire to run her own culinary store that combined her two particular foodie interests: specialty foods and cookbooks. The goals of the store are two-fold: 1) To provide quality dry mixes and jarred products for the time-crunched consumer who still wants to eat well. 2) To create a diverse collection of new and used cookbooks with something for every cook. Shipping Policy Cooking Up Ideas uses the Postal Service or UPS to deliver its food products from Fort Bragg, California, to your home. A shipping charge, based on the weight of your package and the swiftness of delivery, will be added to all orders to cover this cost. You will have several choices on the Shipping screen as you complete your order. The shipping charges for the Postal Service are close ESTIMATES; Cooking Up Ideas reserves the right to charge more to cover our actual costs. If the estimate is substantially lower than real costs, we will contact you via e-mail for approval before processing your order. Book orders are sent separately, from our book distributor's warehouses located around the country. Because it is impossible to set up very distinct shipping rules (by weight for food AND by item for books), each book will have the shipping cost built in to its retail price. The shipping cost will be $1.50 for hardbacks and $1.00 for paperbacks. Return Policy Cooking Up Ideas ships some products that are delicate, and we want you to receive your order intact and usable. If one or two items are broken when you receive them, please contact us immediately for a full product price refund OR for a replacement. If your shipment is completely damaged, let us know so we can file a claim with UPS as well as replace your order. Tax Policy Cooking Up Ideas runs a brick-and-mortar store in the state of California. We will collect California state sales tax at a rate of 7.75 percent on all taxable goods shipped to a California address. Food products are not currently taxable. Bags & Labels The bags and labels shown in the photographs for the pictures of Cooking Up Ideas products may or may not be the same as you receive when you order the product. We are updating all of our labels to include Americana pictures, but will use old labels until they run out. Bag choice changes each time we make a round of mixes. Cooking Up Ideas reserves the right to refuse service to any one, for any reason (though it hasn't happened yet!).
